MacDM Connector — Privacybeleid

Laatst bijgewerkt: 16 juli 2026

This policy describes how the MacDM Connector browser extension ("the Extension") handles data. The Extension works with the MacDM desktop app on the same Mac. It is published by Faruk Kaygısız / Sourceprint.

Single purpose

The Extension’s only purpose is to capture downloadable links, files, and media from web pages and forward them to the MacDM desktop application running locally on your computer, so you can download them with MacDM.

What data is accessed

Depending on how you use it, the Extension may temporarily access: • URLs of pages and downloadable resources you visit or start downloading • HTTP request headers needed to resume authenticated downloads (for example Referer, Cookie, and User-Agent) • File names and sizes reported by the browser’s download system • Media stream addresses (such as HLS/DASH) detected on the current tab so you can send them to MacDM This access happens only to perform the Extension’s single purpose.

Where data is sent

The Extension does not upload your browsing data to Sourceprint, Google, or any other remote server. Captured download information is sent only to MacDM on your Mac over a local connection (http://127.0.0.1 on a fixed port). If MacDM is not running, the Extension does not forward downloads to a remote endpoint.

Cookies and authenticated sites

When a download requires an existing login (for example some Instagram or membership sites), the Extension may read cookies for the relevant site from your browser and pass them locally to MacDM so the download can succeed. Cookies are not sold, not stored on our servers, and not shared with third parties.

Local storage

The Extension may store small preferences in the browser’s local extension storage (for example whether capture is enabled, or a minimum file size). This data stays on your device.

No selling, no tracking ads

We do not sell personal data. The Extension does not include advertising SDKs, analytics trackers, or remote telemetry.

Desktop app relationship

MacDM (the desktop app) manages the actual file download on your disk. Files you save with MacDM remain under your control on your Mac. This policy covers the browser Extension. The Sourceprint website has a separate privacy policy at /privacy.

Changes

If our data practices change, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Extension after an update means you accept the revised policy.
